What is LullaRoute?

LullaRoute is a navigation app for parents driving with a sleeping baby. It plans calm routes with fewer stop lights, stop signs and left turns across traffic, and it guides you without a voice.

Which phones does LullaRoute run on?

iPhone with iOS 18 or newer, and Android phones with Android 8.0 or newer. The app is free to download, and its main features are free to use.

Where does LullaRoute work?

In the United States and Canada. Routes are planned on LullaRoute’s own routing servers, using map data from OpenStreetMap.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account and nothing to sign in to. Your settings, home address, saved drives and nap log stay on your phone.

Which languages does the app support?

English, French and Spanish. The app follows your phone’s language, and you can choose another one in Settings → Language.

How does LullaRoute choose a calm route?

It compares several routes and prefers those with fewer stop lights, stop signs and left turns across traffic. Each option shows these counts next to those of the fastest route, so you can see what the calmer route costs in minutes. In the trip sheet, three sliders set your priorities: “Minimize stop lights”, “Minimize stop signs” and “Prefer smooth highways”.

Why does my trip take longer than the fastest route?

The trip is longer because LullaRoute avoids what you asked it to avoid. Going around a light or a difficult left turn usually costs a minute or two. The preview always shows the fastest route’s numbers next to yours, so you can take the fastest route when the baby is awake.

What is Just drive?

Just drive plans a drive with no destination. Choose how long the nap needs to last, from 10 to 90 minutes, and LullaRoute plans a calm loop that starts and ends where you are. Just drive is free.

Can a drive to a destination last as long as the nap?

Yes, with LullaRoute+. Set the “Trip length” in the trip sheet, and LullaRoute plans a calm route to your destination that takes about that long, for example 40 minutes to daycare. The sheet shows the fastest possible time for comparison.

Can I add stops on the way?

LullaRoute+ adds up to three stops to a trip. Tap “Add stop” in the trip sheet and search for the place.

Can I save a loop that worked well?

Yes. Save it from the route preview. It appears under the You tab, and one tap replays exactly that circuit, with no planning and no signal needed, because the whole route is already on your phone.

How do I avoid a particular turn?

In the You tab, tap “Avoid a turn on the map”, center the map on the junction and choose the turns to skip. Routes planned after that avoid those turns where possible, and the route preview says so if a route still uses one. The turns you avoid are listed in Settings → “Turns to avoid”.

How do I set my home address?

In Settings → Home. During a loop, the “Home” button on the drive screen then plans a calm route back to it from wherever you are.

Why is there no voice guidance?

A voice announcing the next turn can wake a sleeping baby. Instead, LullaRoute shows a large turn banner and vibrates twice, once early and once close to the turn. The vibrations can be turned off in Settings → Driving → “Vibrate before turns”.

Does it work without cell signal?

Yes, once a drive is planned. The turn banner and the vibrations run on your phone, so guidance continues if you lose signal during the drive. Planning a new trip, or rerouting after you miss a turn, requires a connection.

Can I make the drive longer if the baby is still asleep?

Yes. Tap +15 on the drive screen to add 15 minutes from wherever you are. On a loop this is free; on a trip to a destination it is part of LullaRoute+.

Does LullaRoute show the speed limit?

No. Speed limit data in the map is often missing or out of date, so the app shows neither a speed limit sign nor a speedometer. Follow the posted signs.

Does LullaRoute use my location in the background?

Only during an active drive, so that guidance continues while the screen is locked or another app is open. When the drive ends, the app stops using your location in the background.

Does LullaRoute work with CarPlay or Android Auto?

On Android phones, LullaRoute works with Android Auto: the car screen shows the map, the turn card and the drive’s controls. CarPlay support for iPhone is planned for a later update.

What is free, and what does LullaRoute+ add?

The free app includes calm routing, silent guidance, Just drive, Discover, saved drives and the nap log. LullaRoute+ adds trips to a destination timed to the nap, up to three stops on the way, and coffee shops, gas stations and pharmacies along the route. Features you have paid for will not move behind a new paywall.

How much does LullaRoute+ cost?

$9.99 USD a year, renewing automatically, or a one-time payment for lifetime access. The App Store and Google Play show the exact price in your currency before you buy.

Does one purchase cover my family?

On iPhone, yes: one purchase covers the whole family through Apple’s Family Sharing.

How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?

Open Settings → LullaRoute+ → “Restore purchases” while signed in with the Apple Account or Google account you bought it with.

How do I redeem a code?

Open Settings → LullaRoute+ → “Redeem a code”.

How do I cancel the subscription?

The store you bought from manages the subscription. On iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. LullaRoute+ stays active until that period ends.

What is Discover?

Discover lists parks, playgrounds and other calm places a short drive away, and family events in the next two weeks, such as library story times, each with its drive time.

Can I get a reminder before an event?

Yes. Open the event and choose a reminder 1, 2 or 3 hours or one day before it starts. Setting a reminder also saves the event, and tapping the notification opens it again. Saved events are under the You tab.

How do I share an event?

Tap Share on the event. The link opens on any phone, with the details and a map, and opens in LullaRoute if the app is installed. Shared links stop working after about a week.

Why are there business logos on the map?

Local businesses can pay to show a small marker near their location. Each marker is labeled “Ad” and is chosen by place and time of day, never by who you are. Markers never appear on a car screen. Everyone sees them, including LullaRoute+ subscribers.

Can I hide an ad?

Yes. Open the marker’s card and tap the menu beside “Ad”. It offers “Why am I seeing this?”, “Report ad” and “Hide this ad”. A hidden ad stays hidden on your phone, and Settings → Privacy & data → “Show hidden ads again” brings them all back.

How can my business appear on the map?

See LullaRoute for businesses. Markers are bought and managed on the partner portal, outside the app.

What does LullaRoute send to its servers?

To plan a route, your starting point, destination and route preferences. If “Help improve time estimates” is on, which it is by default, each finished drive’s duration and the roads driven are sent too, with the first and last 300 m removed on your phone and no name or account attached. To find partner markers, the app sends squares of map about 4 km across, never your exact position. The privacy policy describes everything in detail.

How do I turn off trip timing?

Open Settings → Privacy & data and turn off “Help improve time estimates”.

How do I delete my data?

LullaRoute has no account, so there is no profile to delete. Everything stored on your phone is removed when you delete it in the app or delete the app. Route reports and ratings carry no identifier; to have one removed, email us the approximate date and route. Turning off push notifications deletes the push token from our server immediately. The privacy policy covers each case.

How do I move my settings to a new phone?

Settings → Privacy & data → “Export all settings” saves your preferences, home address, turns to avoid, saved loops, saved events and nap log to one file. Open that file on the new phone to restore them.

What notifications does LullaRoute send?

Reminders for the events you choose, and, if push notifications are on, occasional news about new features and local events and a reminder after a long time without use. Push notifications are sent only during daytime hours in your time zone and can be turned off in Settings → Privacy & data → “Push notifications”.

A route seemed wrong. How do I report it?

Tap the flag on the route preview or during the drive and describe what was wrong. This sends the exact trip, so it can be replayed through the routing engine. Every report is reviewed, and fixes improve routes for everyone.
